Meet Martha / Domestic Science Team

Welcome back to our weekly segment, introducing you to our wonderful shop team. We have asked them a series of informal questions for you to get to know them better. Who are the faces behind Domestic Science? And to learn about the lovely people who you will be welcomed by, when you visit us.

Martha

You will mostly find Martha working in our Tetbury store. Let's first chat to Martha about life outside of the DS...

Q: What's your homestyle?

A: I like so many different styles. So probably an amalgamation of many! I love Scandinavian design & Japanese design. I'm currently really interested in medieval influences - wooden furniture, candle wares and simple pottery. Lots of natural feathers but I love a pop of colour too. My partner is a woodworker so a lot of our home has wooden feathers.

Q:  What are we most likely to find you doing outside of DS?
A:  Walking/hiking, gardening & working as a clothing designer for my own projects.
Q: Where’s your favourite place to go for lunch, dinner or coffee?
A: I really like being at home & having my friends and family around.
Q: Favourite time of year?
A: Autumn for the changing leaves and Spring for the blossom and bulbs.
Q: If you could live anywhere where would it be?
A:  Scandinavia probably! I love Cornwall Cumbria & Scotland - basically anywhere really wild. Would really love to visit Iceland at some point and Japan is amazing.
Q: Jam or cream first on your scone?
A:  Cream as the jam looks prettiest on top.
